Vice President, Business Development

DC Electronics, a 25-year leader in the custom manufacture and engineering of cable harnesses and electromechanical assembly services, is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its San Jose, CA office as the Vice President of Business Development.

Located in the heart of the Silicon Valley electronics industry, DC Electronics provides an innovative, exciting environment to serve a global business community.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Business Development who is passionate about success!

Essential Duties:

  • Achieve – Develop and attain Company sales objectives. Design strategies for key market penetration and expansion. Assess and analyze competition’s strength and weaknesses.
  • Lead – Select, train, and lead a business development team to accomplish company objectives.
  • Drive – Drive customer retention and supported sales effort to achieve revenue growth. Grow customer base.
  • Negotiate – Negotiate profitable sales contract terms, including pricing, on-going maintenance agreements, and manufacturing parameters.
  • Excite – Generate new ideas, inspire existing and potential customers about exciting opportunities and business innovations.

Required Experience and Skill Sets:

  • Completed BA/BS degree in Business, Finance, or Engineering. MBA from accredited college recommended.
  • A minimum 10 years of strong business development experience, including 5 years in the cable harness, contract manufacturing sector. A thorough understanding of operations, engineering, sales, and marketing in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record in outside sales.
  • Extensive experience negotiating and closing high valued, complex deals with large organizations.
  • Strong financial modeling experience and presentation skills.
  • A thorough command of oral and written communication skill and the use of spread sheet and presentation software.
  • Successfully delivered against demanding schedules and shifting business conditions.

Production Assembler

The successful candidate will manufacture cables, wire harnesses and other electro-mechanical assemblies from component level parts.

Responsibilities:

  • Crimping, soldering, plugging stripping, routing, flat and round wire prepping, inspecting, and potting
  • Ability to read and understand documentation (Assembly instructions/Bill of Materials)
  • Understanding of the ISO 9001-2000 requirements
  • Set up and maintain a clean working environment at all times
  • Understand and follow all safety policies, codes, and procedures

Experience/Education Required:

  • 3+ years experience in cable and harness manufacturing
  • Hand tool and equipment knowledge for building cable assemblies
  • Ability to read and understand English

Personal Characteristics Required:

  • Ability to work in an efficient and time effective manner
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Able to effectively collaborate in a team environment


QA Inspector

The successful candidate will conduct a variety of tests on cables, wire harnesses and other electro-mechanical assemblies to ensure its function according to specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Tests functional performance of cable assemblies and parts under specified conditions
  • Ability to read and understand documentation (Assembly instructions/Bill of Materials)
  • Corrects and calibrates test instruments according to specifications
  • Verifies that assemblies are built to customer specifications, drawings, and Bill of Materials
  • Understanding of the ISO 9001-2000 requirements
  • Set up and maintain a clean working environment at all times
  • Understand and follow all safety policies, codes, and procedures

Experience/Education Required:

  • 3+ years experience in cable and harness manufacturing
  • Hand tool and equipment knowledge for testing cable assemblies
  • Ability to read and understand English
