Production Supervisor

Works under minimal supervision and using a high degree of discretion; this position directs and coordinates the activities of the production control in processing assembly products assembles cables, wire harnesses, and other electro-mechanical assemblies from component level parts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Analyze and resolve manufacturing problems or assist line leads and workers in solving operating problems including grievances.
  • Coordinate manufacturing line operations and establish priorities and sequences for assembled products.
  • Review assembly orders, schedules and capacity to plan manufacturing line operations.
  • Prepare production operation schedules and coordinate assembly activities to ensure that production and quality of products meet specifications.
  • Provide weekly reports to the Manufacturing Operations Manager on the status of proposed, planned, in progress, and completed jobs.
  • Review production reports and resolve manufacturing line problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observe workers to ensure compliance with operating, safely and quality standards.
  • Initiate management methods to motivate workers to achieve work center and company goals, always adhering to company standards, processes and procedures.
  • Working with Human Resources, establish training programs for supervisors and workers.
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment in line with company policy.
  • Participate in Safety program and committee.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High school diploma; minimum of five years’ experience in manufacturing environment and/or training in electrical assembly; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Medical device and Epicor experience desired.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Prior supervision experience
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Strong computer, ERP, and Excel/Google Docs spreadsheet skills
  • Highly motivated, organized, reliable and responsible.
  • Ability to make decisions independently.
  • Preferred: electronics OEM supplier experience: low volume, high mix, diverse small parts, fast turnaround times.
