Job Description Amphenol DC Electronics, Inc. is a custom cable assembly and wire harness manufacturing company based in Silicon Valley, CA. We are a division of Amphenol, one of the largest manufacturers of interconnect products in the world. As part of Amphenol's elite Industrial Products Group, ADCE specializes in manufacturing sophisticated interconnects for demanding medical and industrial applications. Working in conjunction with our facility in Nogales, Mexico, ADCE has the capacity and competitive edge to meet the wire harness needs of high tech OEM's throughout the world. Join our expanding team and be in the exciting epicenter of the technological revolution, Silicon Valley. We are seeking a Packaging Operator/Driver to join our team!

SUMMARY

 

Prepares finished product for shipment to customers. Follows strict procedures for handling outgoing international and domestic shipments while effectively managing large volumes of material in a fast-paced environment. Interacts with customers and colleagues to provide high-touch customer service.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

-Under general supervision, performs manual and clerical duties related to the shipment of finished goods.
-Maintains necessary files and documentation, both manual and computer.
-Utilizes small hand tools and operates material handling equipment including skids, hand truck, pallets, etc.
-Assists in packaging materials for shipment. Marks materials with identifying information.
Uses the computer to enter records. Maintains inventory records.
-Performs necessary duties for UPS and Fed Ex Shipments. Calls couriers for deliveries.
-Knowledge in international shipping and trade compliance regulations. Web-based shipping software of all major carriers: FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc. Exceptional attention to detail

 

-Drives van to pick up and deliver items and supplies to customer's or vendor's place of business.

 

Writes customer order and instructions. Records sales or deliveries information on daily sales or delivery record.

 

-Listens to and resolves service complaints. Places stock on shelves or racks.

 

-May package order and prepare for shipment. Collects or picks up rejected merchandise. Loads truck. Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery. Performs routine maintenance on the truck. Maintains a clean and safe working environment in line with company policy.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School graduate or equivalent. Three years of direct/related experience which has provided a candidate with a solid understanding of shipping function(s).

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Good understanding and comprehension of English

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic arithmetic.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS: Typing required for data entry. Proficiency with computer software skills (MS Office), Windows environment, and knowledge of carrier specific software applications a plus.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds of weight. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
